Cecilia Cheung comeback drama a flop?
12 Jun – It was reported that Cecilia Cheung's comeback drama is now considered a flop since it began airing on television recently.
As reported on HK01, the actress who returned to acting through the new romance drama, "Love Can't Wait" recently, found herself unable to save the drama which has been criticised for being too slow, too outdated, and too dramatic in its storyline.
The drama originally premiered with good viewership ratings, mostly from Cecilia's fans who wanted to watch their favourite actress again after a ten-year hiatus.
However, the ratings had since been declining, with last week's ratings being the lowest for a Hunan Television drama.
Despite the criticisms regarding the storyline, many praised Cecilia for her portrayal of a tragic wife.
Co-starring Vanness Wu, "Love Can't Wait" tells the story of a woman who suffers from the death of her child and the mental torture she receives from her estranged husband and mother-in-law.
