Victoria Beckham is not a grandmother just yet — though she hopes to be one someday.

In a new interview with Vogue, in which the fashion designer and former Spice Girl, 49, discussed the advice she gives her children, Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 18, and Harper, 12, Victoria reacted after the outlet asked her if she is “excited to be a grandmother” and whether she will be stepping into that role anytime soon.

“Oh, Jesus! What?” Victoria, visibly taken aback, replied, as she proceeded to grab her collar and fan herself.

“Hang on. I don’t think it’s happening just yet,” she continued. “Unless you guys know something that I don’t, it’s not happening just yet.”

Victoria then recalled a recent conversation she had with a grandparent: Vogue’s Anna Wintour.

“The last time I was with Anna, I was like, 'Anna, what do your grandchildren call you?’ And she said to me, ‘Anna,’ “ Victoria said. “And I was like, ‘Well, that is very elegant.’ So maybe I’ll take that route. But it’s not happening just yet.”

“Hopefully one day if I am blessed, then that will be wonderful — but we’re not there just yet,” she added.

Although grandparenthood is still a ways away for the mom of four, Victoria did dish about the latest parenting role she’s stepped into: mother-in-law.

Victoria, who became a mother-in-law to son Brooklyn’s wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham when the couple tied the knot in 2022, said, “I think Nicola’s wonderful.”

“She's so passionate about what she does. And her and Brooklyn make each other super happy, and that is wonderful to see as a mother,” she said. “All you want is for your kids to be happy, right?”

When it comes to his own happiness, Brooklyn has previously expressed a strong desire to start a family with Nicola, 29, sooner rather than later.

"I could have had kids yesterday," he told PEOPLE in 2022. "Obviously, it's my wife's body, but I've always wanted to have a bunch of kids around. That's something I really want to do.

At the time, the eldest Beckham son also expressed a desire to emulate the path his father, David Beckham, took to fatherhood.

“My dad was young when he had me,” he told PEOPLE. “He was 23. And I'm 23 now. I've always wanted to be a young dad."
