L&S of Schofield buys Michigan business

SCHOFIELD - L&S Electric Inc. of Schofield has acquired Z&R Electric Services in Iron Mountain, Michigan, the local company announced Friday.

L&S Electric Inc. is headquartered in Schofield.

“L&S Electric sees this acquisition as an opportunity to bring new technology and increased opportunities to northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan," Jeremy Lewitzke, L&S president, said in a news release. "The experience that exists at Z&R Electric, combined with L&S Electric’s broad offering, will benefit our customers tremendously.”

Z&R Electric has provided motor repair services in the Upper Peninsula since 1950. L&S Electric plans to retain all current employees, according to the news release. The new operation will carry the L&S Electric name.

In business since 1930, L&S Electric Inc. distributes motors and electric products and provides mechanical and electrical field support services. It also provides engineering, design, and the manufacture of electrical components used in their hydroelectric automation systems worldwide. L&S Electric is headquartered in Schofield and has operations in Rothschild, Appleton and Sturtevant, as well as Menominee, Mich., and Minneapolis.
