NWS confirms at least 4 tornadoes in south Louisiana

The National Weather Service confirmed four tornadoes tore through parts of south Louisiana during severe weather and storms on Wednesday, April 10.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The National Weather Service confirmed four tornadoes tore through parts of south Louisiana during severe weather and storms on Wednesday, April 10.

Officials announced there was damage consistent with at least one EF-1 tornado in St. Francisville.

In addition, the NWS said a second tornado hit near Morganza in Pointe Coupee Parish.

The NWS upgraded the strength of the tornado that hit Slidell to an EF-2.

An EF-2 tornado also ripped through the Lake Charles area, according to the National Weather Service.

Video taken in the aftermath of the severe weather that moved through the area shows downed trees and debris left behind on Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville.
