Malus toringo (M. sieboldii) is a small tree that often grows in shrub form in Europe. Height 4 - 5 m with an oval to rounded crown with strongly outgrowing and overhanging branches. The glossy dark green leaves are oval to ovoid, with light green hairs on the underside and sometimes with 1 to 3 lobes. Flower buds purplish-red, flowers pale pink, fading to white. Diameter approx. 2.5 cm. The round fruits are yellow-orange. M. toringo can be used in avenues, streets and gardens and prefers nutritious soil. Winter hardiness zone: 5a
