Women channel their inner Elle Woods on 'Legally Blonde's 15th anniversary

"I'll show you how valuable Elle Woods can be!"

And with that, Legally Blonde's unapologetically Greek, pretty-in-pink Elle Woods (played by Reese Witherspoon) began her cinematic journey from privileged, starry-eyed Harvard first-year pursuing her "MRS" degree to a veritable wunderkind in the world of law. Witherspoon's Woods initially studied her way into the Ivy League's crown jewel to chase her egocentric ambitious ex-boyfriend and, while on the hunt, ends up finding herself and her passion. Using Woods' character development as the canvas, Legally Blonde paints a feminist portrait and brushes up audiences on the power of self-love.

On the 15th anniversary of the original film, which has since enjoyed a sequel and Broadway musical, Witherspoon took to Instagram to reflect on the legacy of Legally Blonde (and hit a quick "bend and snap").

Naturally, the actress wasn't the only one. Legally Blonde fans also flocked the platform to share their degrees, along with the hashtags #bendandsnap and #legallyblonde15, a testament to the power of the Elle Woods effect (or, you know, women's empowerment films).
