TOUGH guy Russell Crowe lets his fists fly in his new role as a bare-knuckle boxer, before seeking solace in drink.
The star — famed for appearing as Maximus in Gladiator — plays Jack Slack in Prizefighter, which tells the story of champion boxer Jem Belcher.
New Zealander Crowe, 58, plays his grandad.
It’s a hard-hitting movie.
The actor has sported a fuller physique in recent years, maintaining it for his heavyweight role in the upcoming film.
In November he shocked Strictly Come Dancing viewers with a surprise appearance.

He appeared via a pre-recorded video message to voice his support for Tom Fletcher.
"Hello, Tom Fletcher. How are you, young man? Russell Crowe here," the actor said in his message to the Strictly contestant.
"So, I hear you’ve succumbed to your passion for dancing and I also hear you’re doing very well. I do expect you to achieve a higher level because that is in your nature, young Tom."
