Actor Skai Jackson is showing off her quick and dewy go-to makeup routine — the one she uses before fighting racism via social media — and it's super easy to follow.
Skai spilled all her beauty secrets and favorite products in a video for Allure. To start, Skai wets her trusty Beautyblender and gives her skin a flawless finish with Pat McGrath Labs Sublime Perfection foundation. "This is great for having a very dewy look ... I prefer this one and it's my Holy Grail." She uses shade Medium Deep 22. "It took me so long to find the perfection foundation shade," Skai said, noting that she previously had to combine several shades to get a match.
Next, Skai uses Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage concealer, a products she always goes back to because it's "not too cakey,” under her eyes and around her lips and chin. "I love to have a very bright center of my face," she says. "I learned that on Jessie ... it looks great on camera." She uses her Beautyblender to blend the concealer with the foundation.
For brows, Skai uses the classic Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in shade Ebony to subtly define her natural arch, then follows it up with the brand's Clear Brow Gel to keep the look in place. When it comes to eye makeup, Skai chooses the Uoma Beauty Carnival Color eyeshadow palette in warm pink, burgundy, and gold shades. "I like my eyeshadow to be pretty natural," she says. "I'm kind of scared to experiment and try all those crazy colors. When you're using a natural shade, you can't mess it up." She opts for a rose gold shade all over her lid, then finishes off with Too Faced's bestselling Better Than Sex mascara on her top and bottom lashes.
In the vid, Skai also reveals she loves to contour, and uses Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk'r Bronzer in Caramel Cutie on her temples and in the hollows of her cheeks; she also gently contours her nose. "If I were on a desert [island] and I only had three products, I would bring my Fenty Beauty lipgloss, Too Faced mascara ... and probably face moisturizer," Skai says, sharing that on her off days, she doesn't usually wear makeup. Later in the video, she reveals that, though she'd worn makeup on set before, she first started experimenting with makeup around age 13 — she's now 18.
Once her bronzer is blended, she uses a small Morphe brush to apply Uoma Beauty's Black Magic Carnival Bronzing Highlighter in Barbados right on the tip of her nose. For her cheeks, Skai blends NARS Blush in Exhibit A and KVD Vegan Beauty Everlasting Blush, then smiles widely to apply to the apples of her cheeks — a fail-proof trick!
When it comes lips, Skai chooses NYX Lip Liner in Brown, which she loves combining with various glosses to achieve her preferred neutral looks. In the video, she chooses a Dior gloss in shade 013 for a "very natural brown color."
She then applies Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer Gloss in Glass Slipper for a sparkly, shimmery finish, and sets her makeup with Urban Decay's classic All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. And voilá! She's ready for a busy day of exposing racists, answering over 3,000 DMs to fight the cause, some from celebrities! We think that's even more inspiring than her beauty routine!
