FIBERGLASS REBAR

TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

1. Product description
Round cross-section rods consisting of a multiple of continuous
glass fibers arranged in the longitudinal direction and
impregnated with a thermosetting polymer binder (resin). The
outer layer of the rebar is ribbed (OD winding).
Composite rebar is made by pultrusion (drawing method)
ensuring linear alignment of the fibers in the direction of the
bar axis, complete impregnation of the glass fibers with resin
and a high degree of polymerization of the resin.

2. Supply and packaging

"Plan B" fiberglass rebars are supplied in the following forms:
• ⌀ 4 – 32 mm: 12 meters long rebars or at customer's request;
• ⌀ 4 – 12 mm: coils of up to 100 meters.
Due to the properties of fiberglass rebar, it can be twisted into coils without loss of strength and quality. The
coils can be packed using packing tape, plastic wrap or cable ties.

3. Composition
Glass roving impregnated with epoxy resin-based compound.

4. Fields of application
• Industrial floors (shopping and office centers, warehouses, logistics shops, factories, industrial buildings);
• Reinforcement of foundations, floors, walls in low-rise construction (up to 3 floors);
• Underground and surface multi-level parking areas;
• Cement-concrete roads, runways;
• Bridges, tunnels, metro, railway construction;
• Hydraulic structures (dams, piles, shafts, water channels, bank reinforcement);
• Military, chemical and protective structures;
• Bridges, footpaths, paving slabs;
• Agriculture (agro-industrial facilities).

5. Benefits
• Dielectric;
• High corrosion resistance;
• Length variety;
• Product lightness (9 times lighter than metal);
• High tensile strength (3 times stronger than metal);
• High chemical resistance;
• Non-magnetic;
• No thermal conductivity;
• Radio transparent.
6. Storage and transportation
Rebar is stored horizontally on racks or specially designated storage areas, in unheated or heated warehouses
1 meter from the heating devices as closest. When storing composite rebar for a long time it is necessary to
protect it from ultraviolet exposure. For cutting of bars it is recommended to use angle grinder to get non-
damaged and non-deformed cut of the bar. To bind the bars together you can use both the binding wire and
plastic clamps/clips.

7. Safety measures
When using fiberglass rebars, be sure to follow the safety rules:
• Hand protection: Gloves with latex or PVC coating;
• Face protection: Respirator, mask, glasses;
• Skin protection: Clothing that covers all areas of the body.
Uncoil the rebar coils in a vertical manner. Large coils should be uncoiled with the assistance of at least 2
persons involved and only in the area where the construction work is being carried out.
