Selection Sunday 2018: Date, time, new TV channel for March Madness Selection Show

The Final Four is coming to TBS, not CBS, this season.

The 2018 March Madness Selection Show has a new home, moving to TBS for the March 11 two-hour special. It’s not wholly surprising as Turner Sports (the parent company of TBS) and CBS Sports are collaborating for their eighth straight year, airing all 67 NCAA tournament games on CBS, TBS, TNT, or TruTV (yes, that’s still a thing).

TBS will also air the national semifinals (March 31) and the national championship (April 2).

The two-hour length of the programming has been unpopular since it was introduced in 2016, where the bracket famously leaked before they could drag through the whole production. Last season’s Selection Sunday show changed things up to announce the full bracket first, then move into analysis, so hopefully that’s the case again this year.

Per the press release from the NCAA, hosting duties will fall to Greg Gumbel and Ernie Johnson, and Clark Kellogg, Charles Barkley, Seth Davis, and Kenny Smith will join the broadcast for additional analysis.

That means there’s more opportunity to see Barkley struggle with a touch screen:

CBS and TBS will also offer a live pre-selection show on Feb. 11:

Ahead of the Selection Show, Turner Sports and CBS Sports will present NCAA March Madness Bracket Preview on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 12:30 p.m. on CBS, with the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Selection Committee offering an in-season look at the NCAA Tournament brackets. NCAA Men’s Committee Chair and Creighton Athletic Director Bruce D. Rasmussen will be in-studio for the reveal of the top 16 seeds, including the four teams in each region, as they stand as of Feb. 11.

The March Madness Selection Show will air at 6 p.m. ET on March 11 on TBS ... it truly feels like basketball season now.
