Though it takes on one too many side quests on its journey through video game history, High Score has enough nostalgia to entertain players of all ages.

Vinnie G An amazing documentary Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Teddy B Interesting parts of video game history are there (only briefly mentioned or stretched beyond the point of no return, there is no acceptable in-between) but it feels like the politicised elements and gaming history elements are fighting for screen-time to the point where the series has no really insightful or unique look at video games near the end and feels like an annoyingly inconsistent episodic venture into some of the most minute aspects of gaming (focus and near fetishisation of Atari and gushing about how great their games were). Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review B B its great i loved everything Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/28/23 Full Review Gareth v As a long time gamer this series offers a great insight into some of the best games made over the last few decades. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/24/23 Full Review sweet z I don't understand why people didn't like this production? It's an above average production that tells about some important milestones in video game history. Especially the animations used are great. If you are a player of a certain age like me, old days can be experienced in your eyes.As a big video game fan, I give this production one point higher than usual. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/04/24 Full Review Isaac P There's a better history of video games on the YouTube channel Crash Course. And its actually about video games. Benjamin Frisch Slate Like the games it worships, High Score is an amusing way to pass the time, but one can't help but feel like it's set to easy mode. Aug 21, 2020 Full Review Steve Greene indieWire The overriding smoothness of this history leaves it sapped of any dramatic tension. All of the successes are a foregone conclusion. The appearance of "doc series as branding initiative" isn't new, or even a stranger to Netflix menus.
