Thankfully, the Japanese continue to make traditional hand-drawn animation, digitized in color and partially- enhanced with CG. With Battle of Gods, it's a seamless blend, and entertains as any CG-animated film.

The movie was quite illusory; it set high expectations at the time, and completely undermined everything established by Dragon Ball and Akira Toriyama. This film only brought me to tears during its credits, not for its content, but because the credits rolled scenes from all of Dragon Ball and Z, triggering a wave of nostalgia so intense, I couldn't help but shed a tear. It seems this movie was made for nostalgia-seekers and the older generation. As a Dragon Ball fan, I went to see it and was met with a huge disappointment due to its lackluster new plot and poor script. However, this is purely a reflection of my nostalgia, nothing more to add.
