GORHAM – Nancy Alexander Kenty, 88, of Gorham, passed away from cancer on Feb. 27, 2024. She faced this challenge, just like all other challenges in her life with faith, grace and strength.
Nancy was born on Oct. 8, 1935 in St. Albans, Vt. and was raised on a dairy farm in Georgia, Vt., which she referred to as “just down the road a piece”. She was the only child of Albert Dewey and Marion Vincelette Alexander. Nancy attended a one room school up until 8th grade.
After high school she went to Boston, Mass. for Nursing school where she met her husband, Burt. Nancy worked as a nurse until she became a stay at home mom. She was a skilled seamstress and was very active in her church community and her local library and with the General Federation of Women’s Club, both local and state level and Samaritans. Nancy had a very positive outlook on life and continuously looked on the bright side.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Laura Dawn; and her husband of 50 years, Burt.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Rebecca, her son-in-law, David, son, George and his wife, Jenny. She is the proud grandmother of Joseph Alexander; and leaves behind her silly cat, Ethel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Cressey Road Christian Church, 81 Cressey Rd., Gorham with a funeral on Saturday, March 9 at 12 p.m., at Cressey Road Church.
