Max von Sydow confirmed for new ‘Game of Thrones’

Three-Eyed Raven will return for new episodes

Max von Sydow will appear in the upcoming season of Game Of Thrones.

The actor, who has been appearing in film and TV since the 1940s and has starred in Dune, Minority Report and Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, will reportedly play the Three-Eyed Raven in the new season.

Von Sydow’s Three-Eyed Raven briefly appeared in S4 of the HBO drama but will return in a fuller role for the new episodes. Entertainment Weekly reports that the supernatural mentor of Brann Stark will play a more significant role this time around.

The Game of Thrones team have already promised that S6 is “the best yet” and contains the biggest battle scene to date.

With the show set to return to screens in the US and UK on April 24, fans are split between avoiding spoilers and actively trying to work out what the new episodes will bring. A number of spoilers have leaked ahead of S6, most recently when Ian McShane talked about the fate of his character after joining the cast for the new episodes.

McShane is not the only cast member to give away secrets this year. Sophie Turner revealed that her character Sansa Stark won’t be killed off in the series while Emilia Clarke may have revealed the fate of character Jon Snow at a recent awards ceremony.
