Curry Scores 31 as Warriors Secure Seventh Consecutive Road Win

The Golden State Warriors defeated the New York Knicks 110-99 at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night.

Stephen Curry's 3-pointer 17 seconds into the game gave the Warriors the early lead, and the Dubs held the lead for the remaining 47-plus minutes to win their seventh consecutive road game.

Curry led the way for the Warriors, recording 31 points and 11 rebounds. Jonathan Kuminga added 25 points and eight assists in the win.

QUICK START
The Warriors held the Knicks scoreless for over the first five minutes of Thursday’s contest, opening the game with a 14-0 lead, the Warriors largest run to open a game since the 1996-97 season. Stephen Curry led the way early for the Dubs, hitting three 3-pointers, while the Knicks missed their first nine field goal attempts of the game. The Warriors lead peaked at 17 points before ending the first frame with a 31-19 lead, their 12-point advantage was after the quarter was their highest of the season.

CURRY ON THE GLASS
Stephen Curry hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter, recording 11 points in the frame, but more impressively, Curry grabbed seven first-quarter rebounds. His seven rebounds in the first quarter tied a career-high, when he also recorded seven rebounds in the opening frame against the Indiana Pacers on Jan. 22, 2016.

Curry’s rebounding prowess continued to show in the second quarter as his 10 first-half rebounds tied his most ever in a half (Dec. 28, 2015).

He finished the game with 11 rebounds, a season-high, while also adding eight 3-pointers in the victory.

KUMINGA IN THE PAINT
Jonathan Kuminga scored 25 points on Thursday night, including a career-high 24 points in the paint. Kuminga's athleticism and strength was showcased throughout the course of the game, finishing around the rim in a variety of different ways.

Andris Biedrins (26 PITP) is the only Warrior to score more points in the paint in a single game than Kuminga in the last 14 seasons (Nov. 26, 2010).

DRAYMOND FILLS THE STAT SHEET
Draymond Green had his fingerprints on all parts of the Warriors win. Green recorded seven points, 10 rebounds, six assists and a block on 3-for-4 shooting.

MOODY MAKES ANOTHER START
Moses Moody started for the second consecutive game and once again made an early impact for the Dubs. Moody scored four of his eight points in the first quarter, including a fast break And-1 off of a Draymond Green pass. Moody finished the night with a game-high plus-23 plus-minus.

ROAD WINNING STREAK
The Warriors have now won seven straight road games, their longest road winning streak since the 2018-19 season (Dec. 29, 2018 - Feb. 8, 2019). They have also won 12 of their last 15 games, with their 12 wins since Jan. 30 being the most in the NBA.
