Horse Tracks: Cody Latimer could be on the verge of breaking out

Good Morning Broncos Country

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

I have typed this a few times since the Denver Broncos selected wide receiver Cody Latimer in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft, but I believe Latimer is on the verge of having a breakout game for the Broncos.

I say this because Peyton Manning will probably be not quarterbacking the Denver Broncos for at least the next few weeks. He and Latimer never really got on the same page together. Now that quarterback Brock Osweiler is starting for the Broncos, things may change for the second-year wide receiver.

The two players have looked to be on the same page with each other every time they share the field. Whether it be during Training Camp practices, the preseason, or this past Sunday when Latimer caught a career-high 3 passes for 30 yards.

With Emmanuel Sanders continuing to battle through injuries, I think we could see a bit more of Latimer this Sunday at Chicago. It's about time too. While Benny Fowler is a great story, Latimer is bigger, faster, and stronger than him and probably a better overall receiver. If the Broncos can get Latimer going, they have become much better on offense.
