Coaching Carousel: Lipscomb to Move on From Scott Sanderson

Lipscomb University has decided to move on from long tenured head coach Scott Sanderson in a rather late move for the Atlantic Sun school.

Joe Robbins

In a rather late move Lipscomb and head coach Scott Sanderson have decided to not continue their relationship.

Sanderson was the longest tenured Atlantic Sun coach, as he had been with the Bisons since 1999. Lipscomb has had six winning seasons over the past ten years, but the Nashville based school has yet to grab an Atlantic Sun title under Sanderson in their seven years of eligibility.

The Bisons transitioned to Division I under Lipscomb and were 234-219 under Sanderson. Before coming to Nashville, Sanderson was the head coach at the University of Mobile and an assistant at New Orleans, Virginia, South Carolina, and Colorado.

Sanderson is the son of Wimp Sanderson, who coached the University of Alabama and Arkansas-Little Rock for several years.
