Joel Madden was kicked out of an Australian hotel last weekend, after police found pot in his room.

That’s right, he had the crazy weed. … the reefer … the silly grass … the herb … the Mary J. … the Maui wowie.

Anyway, the Good Charlotte frontman has been in Australia, working as a coach for “The Voice Australia” television show. He was tossed from his room in the Sydney area after New South Wales police seized a “small amount of plant matter believed to be cannabis” Sunday night, according to the Daily Mail.

A totally uncool woman cleaning his room Sunday night found the stuff and alerted the authorities, who executed a search warrant at 10:30 p.m.

According to the Huffington Post, charges haven’t been brought against the 34-year-old yet, but he was forced to leave his apartment at The Darling Hotel inside The Star casino complex, where he stayed the past two months. He allegedly possessed five grams or marijuana. While New South Wales law reportedly recommends only cautionary action for offenders found with less than 15 grams, the hotel manager told TMZ “in Australia, there is zero tolerance for this no matter where you are.”

A hotel spokesman said Madden’s celebrity status wouldn’t be a factor in the decision to kick him out. It’s simply company policy to do so concerning guests found with illegal substances.

Who do these people think they are?

“He was not afforded any special treatment, and he’s moved out,” the hotel official told the Daily Mail.
