Many users of Twitter have been reporting problems this Saturday, July 1. That's a major blow for Elon Musk, as this isn't the first time there have been Twitter outages during his reign in charge of the social media platform.
The spike in Twitter outage reports started at 07:30 ET, with thousands turning to websites such as iMore and DownDetector.

In terms of the actual problem with Twitter, many users have received a message telling them "rate limit exceeded", and the hashtag #RateLimitExceeded is trending among those who are able to access the app.
As for the specific platforms that are suffering, 45 percent of those reporting issues have seen this on the website version of Twitter, while 38 percent of problems are with the app and 17 percent are with the feed.
Those who are able to access Twitter have been tweeting at Elon Musk or about him to complain about this outage.
"Every single aspect of Twitter has gotten considerably worse since Elon Musk took over, from constant bots in DMs and comments to regular app collapses, and there are still people who worship him, it is impossible to run a social media platform worse than this." said one user.
"Elon Musk bought twitter and made it worse," added another.
"Do you even care about this app anymore?" one user asked the owner. "This is literally the third outage since you took over because of changes you and your staff made."
Problems after Elon Musk's Twitter layoffs
This issue comes after Elon Musk let go of a significant number of staff following his acquisition of the company in October of 2022
There was also a major Twitter outage back in February and another in March, before this major problem on the first day of July.
