What an atrociously sorry state we live in today. Let’s be abundantly clear. The hostages being released by Hamas are innocents, captured in the most brutal manner, contrary to Geneva Convention protocols and many of whom had family members killed as part of the same attack. Those being released by Israel, in disproportionate numbers to the amount of hostages, are convicts who have attempted to kill and harm and who, in any other country, would be left to rot in jail.

Justin Trudeau you have failed. You have consistently failed the Canadian economy by ignoring the most basic indicators and fundamentals. You failed Canadians during COVID and thereafter. You have failed housing. You have failed with the carbon tax. You have failed equity among Canadians. You failed in advocating for transparency and the avoidance of conflict when every political scandal during your tenure is mired in conflict of interest violations and criminal-esque activities. You have failed in representing Canada on the international stage, most recently at CPTPP, where you constantly advocate your progressive agenda and, as a result, are never taken seriously or viewed as an equal. And you now fail in your hyper-focus on Israel and your comments on the Israel war with Hamas and terror. In the face of unarguable evidence. In the face of such unspeakable and heinous atrocities committed against loving Israeli citizens. In the face of domestic abuse and terror perpetrated by the lack of condemnation by local Canadian political leaders. Your brash, myopic and uneducated tweets and press conferences exacerbate the growing anti-Israel and anti-Semitic overtones. Be strong Justin. For once don’t be a follower. Be a leader. Advocate for good. Advocate for the freeing of all the Israeli hostages as a pre-condition to any arrangement. Hamas is not just Israel’s problem. Terror has and will always be Canada’s as well. There should be no compromise.

It is a small, but anti-Semitic, violent and vocal, minority that supports Hamas. But it is a much larger group that openly supports the Palestinian Authority taking over the governance in Gaza claiming it would foster peace with Israel and unity and stability for the Palestinian people. This includes seemingly intelligent politicians, bureaucrats, business leaders and vocal social media ‘experts’. Make no mistake, the current Palestinian Authority leadership, like Yaser Arafat before it, wants nothing more than to see its citizens mired in continuous subjugation by its own authoritative leaders so that they can benefit personally and financially. Conversely, Israel has historically attempted to provide opportunities to the common Palestinian people, often to the dire detriment of its own citizens. See below for who the world expects Israel to hand over Gaza to and then sit across at the negotiating table. How ridiculous.

We all know that Trudeau is stumbling to the finish line of his Prime Ministership, but this is completely moronic. Israel does not target civilians. Unlike Hamas, and those who aide them, who butchered, raped, tortured and burned innocents, Israel goes to great lengths, at the cost of the lives of its own citizens, to shelter and protect the Palestinians being used as human shields. Justin, if Israel didn’t care about Palestinian civilians, this war would have been over on October 8th.

Jews the world over are fighting a propaganda war against hate and ignorance. Misinformation is spreading rapidly via social media, where those driven by antisemitism or blind ignorance entrench themselves deeply in societal narratives. The difficulty lies not only in countering the false information being spread about Israel’s history and the atrocities committed by Hamas but also in addressing the emotional and deeply ingrained beliefs that underpin the hatred and ignorance. Those who advocate hate and bigotry via “death to Jews” or “From the River to the Sea”, which equally call for the annihilation of Jewish people, cannot be dealt with. Those who proactively shroud themselves in ignorance so that they can advocate for their myopic, feel-good progressiveness, cannot be dealt with. There is however a substantial portion of the world that lacks a comprehensive understanding of Israel's history, but foster a widespread recognition that Hamas is a terrorist entity directly associated with violence and evil. It is this element of the international community that we must ensure does not become swayed, actively or apathetically, by the hate-filled (often violent), anti-Israel, anti-Semitic protests in the streets or online falsehoods contributing to the primary victim of war, the truth. An active and continued multi-faceted approach, involving education, media literacy, and fostering critical thinking can correct the misinformation and cultivate empathy, understanding and a shared commitment to truth to ensure that Israel’s fight for her freedom from Hamas, is understood as a battle being waged on behalf of Israel’s citizens, international Jewry, those Palestinians who are innocent and everywhere civilizations are threatened by those who wishing subjugate others to their violent ideology.
