Report: Sixers deal James Ennis III to Orlando Magic after trading for Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III

NBA: Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a deal to send James Ennis III to the Orlando Magic. The deal required James Ennis to waive his no-trade clause (which I must presume he has agreed to do).

No details on the pick coming back yet.

The Sixers have to make roster moves to accomodate incoming players Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks, who they traded for in the very early hours of Thursday morning. It seems Ennis is at least one of the roster casualties.

UPDATE: The pick coming back to the Sixers is the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2020 2nd round pick, per Josh Robbins of The Athletic.

This pick is likely to be one of the last 5-10 picks of this summer’s NBA Draft, which is great because it will produce a very sane and balanced discussion about the value of a 2nd round pick after the Sixers inevitably sell the pick on draft night.
