Broad-snouted caiman (Caiman latirostris) Cayman, any photographer's favorite subject for being so steady. I was tempted to say this is a crocodile because of it's broad snout, but further research learned this is a caiman, a broad-snouted one. The broad-snouted caiman is a crocodilian reptile found in eastern and central South America, including southeastern Brazil, northern Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia. It is found mostly in freshwater marshes, swamps, and mangroves. Usually, in still or very slow moving waters. It will often utilize human made cow ponds.
