Watch: Terence Stamp & Reggie Watts Star Peter Serafinowicz's New Hot Chip Music Video

About a year ago, we pegged Peter Serafinowicz as one of the music video directors we expected to make a breakthrough into features in the immediate future. The comic actor, perhaps best known for voicing Darth Maul in “Star Wars,” had made a couple of excellent videos for Hot Chip and Alex Metric. And indeed, he’s now gearing up for his directorial debut, in which he’ll star as his comic creation Brian Butterfield.

But in the meantime, Serafinowicz has returned to the music video world with a doozy; the director has reunited with Hot Chip for “Night & Day,” the first video from the band’s new record, and it features some star names including supermodel Lara Stone, comic/musician Reggie Watts, and General Zod himself, Terence Stamp. It’s less overtly comic than Serafinowicz’s earlier videos, with Stamp playing the leader of some kind of weird cult (full of monks and people wearing horses’ heads) awaiting the arrival of alien spaceships piloted by Stone and Watts. We can’t say it’s our favorite ever Hot Chip single, but Serafinowicz has done them proud with the video. Watch it below.
