Ryan Reynolds called upon a fellow Canadian and comic living legend for his latest Mint Mobile advertisement.
Rick Moranis drops by in the spot that premiered Wednesday, not to help sell anything, but just because Reynolds wanted to tell him he is such a big fan. A playfully confused Moranis says the new deal Mint Moblie is offering sounds good and adds “I gotta get a phone,” a joke on the actor being out of the spotlight for years, by choice.
The fan-favorite Moranis has largely kept away from the industry since the mid-90s after his wife died. However, he has recently been doing more in front of the camera. Moranis appeared on the Disney+ series Prop Culture to talk Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, around the same time it was announced he had signed on to appear in the latest chapter of that film series titled Shrunk, which will star Josh Gad.
David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films are producing Shrunk, with Todd Rosenberg penning the script.
