Veteran comic actor Kevin Pollak and teen star Joey King are set to star in the Canadian indie film Borealis by director Sean Garrity.
King plays the estranged pot-smoking teenage daughter of an unemployed gambler (Jonas Chernick) who takes her on a road trip where a volatile bookie, played by Pollak, pursues them. King and Pollak join a previously announced cast that includes Jake Epstein, Greg Bryk and Cle Bennett.
King recently had a starring role in Zach Braff’s Wish I Was Here and was part of the cast of the first season of FX‘s Fargo TV series. Pollak co-stars on the comedy Mom and has movie credits like A Few Good Men and The Usual Suspects.
Garrity’s comedic-drama, based on a screenplay by Chernick, will shoot in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is produced by Buffalo Gal Pictures.
