Yang Fudong
楊福東

Yang Fudong was born in Beijing in 1971, he graduated from the Oil Painting Department of the China Academy of Art and now lives and works in Shanghai.

His main works include the film "An Estranged Paradise" which participated in the documentary exhibition in Kassel in 2002, and the multi-screen movie "The Seven Sages of Bamboo Forest" created in 2003. His works have also been exhibited in art exhibitions in various countries.

In 2004, he was nominated for the Guggenheim Hugo Boss Contemporary Art Award and became the third Chinese artist to receive this honor after Cai Guo-Qiang and Huang Yong Ping.

1971年生於北京, 畢業於中國美術學院油畫系, 現居住和工作於上海。

主要作品有2002年參加卡塞爾文獻展的電影作品《陌生天堂》, 以及2003年創作的多螢幕電影《竹林七賢》, 作品亦曾在各國藝術展覽中展出。

2004年入圍古根漢 Hugo Boss 當代藝術獎, 成為繼蔡國強、黃永砯之後, 第三位獲此榮譽的華人藝術家。
