First Look: Trick Out Your AR with CMMG’s New Enhanced Parts (PA Range Day 2021)

The company that brought us the MK47 has just released a new line of premium AR parts, and we got a chance to test them out at this year’s Primary Arms Range Day.

Under the sub-brand “ZEROED,” CMMG is releasing a line of 25 enhanced parts for the AR-15 platform, including a 60˚/90˚ ambidextrous safety selector, a bolt catch kit, muzzle devices, a charging handle, and a pistol grip.

As with all CMMG products, the ZEROED line of aftermarket parts is designed to enhance the shooter’s experience without breaking the bank. No parts released so far cost more than $100, and some parts are under $20.

Their new linear compensator, for example, runs at $75 and is available for 9mm, 5.56 NATO, .45 ACP, and .308 Win. It’s a simple device, but it redirects muzzle blast forward and reduces rise without the explosive shot report associated with muzzle brakes. Its compact size means it won’t significantly increase the gun’s overall length, and its 303 Nitride-finished stainless steel means it can handle whatever you throw at it.

Other ZEROED parts are designed to help users run their rifles and pistols faster and more efficiently. The 60˚ safety selector only requires users to turn the selector 60˚ instead of the traditional 90˚. CMMG didn’t invent this idea, and 30˚ less movement might not sound like much. But if you’ve ever used a 60˚ selector, you know that it allows the user to manipulate the controls with less wrist-twisting or thumb reaching. It’s not a game-changer, but it’s an improvement.

The enhanced mag release is ambidextrous and protrudes from the receiver for easier manipulation, and CMMG offers the enhanced button and ambi mag catch as standalone products.

We also liked the pistol grip. It installs on all mil-spec AR-platform rifles and features a 20˚ angle to maximize comfort and deliver a natural point of aim. The texturing is aggressive without being abrasive, and it appears to be slightly shorter than a standard grip.

CMMG’s ZEROED line is designed to enhance the user’s experience, and we think they nailed it

The ambidextrous enhanced charging handle is great, and we’re always happy when new options enter the market. The $80 price tag isn’t tons cheaper than other products, but its simple, low-profile design is a plus.

CMMG isn’t done yet. The company plans to offer additional enhanced parts in the coming months, so keep checking the website for more releases.

This gun now looks like AK-47u from Call of Duty Game Series. But I bet, this one is more accurate and easy to handle than the AK. And recoil is also less.
