According to the Lyst Index, Loewe is one of the hottest brands on the planet. So it makes sense to enlist Jamie Dornan – one of the hottest dudes on the planet – to be its latest global brand ambassador. The Northern Irish actor is au fait with big menswear moments, too. Before he was even an actor, he modelled for brands like Giorgio Armani, Boss, and Calvin Klein. A solid foundation! And now, he's doubling down at Paris Fashion Week.
Decked out from head to toe in Loewe (as a Very Famous Person, it's de rigueur to wear the brand of the fashion show you're attending), the Belfast star pulled together wardrobe staples and made an absurdly big fit from it all. There's blue denim jeans with a doorstep-tall turn-up, just-scruffy-enough hair and beard, Campo Chelsea boots – which are slightly asymmetrical, slightly chunky, and very, very cool – alongside a jacket patched up with Loewe's cursive logo.
And it's this jacket that's doing all the heavy lifting. A hooded bomber, it's made entirely from a smooooth lambskin and coated with a demi-matte finish. Dornan's turn is the kinda autumn fit that we all dream of wearing one day, with rich, earthy tones and lots and lots of layering.
Plus, it's another marker of success by Loewe's creative director Jonathan Anderson. The designer (also Northern Irish, FYI) has built an empire on weirding out the classics. In past runway shows, that's resulted in a stripy jumper with bike handlebars attached at his namesake brand JW Anderson, T-shirts made to look like MS Paint pixelations, sneakers with shoots of grass and even Kit Connor in a future disco sequinned polo shirt. Dornan's strayed to the more classic side of the brand, but it still feels inherently Loewe: playful, fun and deeply cool.
