In 1999, GONZO merged with Digimation to form Gonzo Digimation Holdings, one of Japan's premier digital animation production companies. The new merged company's name was Gonzo Digimation. This name was changed back to Gonzo in July 2004.
Shouji Murahama first imagined the company as a group of ruffians; therefore, he chose the name "GONZO" as it means "ruffian" in the Italian language.

** spoiler alert ** Last Exile is one of my top 10 animes of all time; between the designs, the world, the lore and the characters there's a lot to unpack over and over again. When Fam of the Silver Wing was announced I was over the moon. And while that show didn't quite grab me as much as LE, I was happy to see multiple characters return for Fam (set two-ish years later)

But my question, upon seeing preview images and stills centered on wtf happened to Claus.

I had hoped this would fill in those details as it's meant to bridge the two series. Unfortunately it doesn't.

While this is a perfectly good tale, it's very much a "let's have cute moments" with little in the way of meat.

Tatiana trying to navigate her feelings for Claus, Claus being oblivious to her AND Lavie's feelings, Alvis and Holly becoming friends and a but more in regards to how the Anatoray-Disith Coalition formed the strong force they are in Fam.

No Dio. No Sophia. It's basically a story about the love triangle amidst some hardships that aren't really hardships as they figure things out quick.

Still it's a nice addition to the series (that likely would have been two episodes if animated) for fans who want to see the first days after landing.
