I heard news that this manga would be getting an anime adaptation and that it would air in October. Now I was very curious about this one, for 3 reasons:
1. Bookstore (with manga/doujinshi etc.)
2. Blurb
3. Covers
The story? This is about the lives of 7 clerks who work at a bookstore. Now, this bookstore sells normal books, but also doujinshi and adult (aka porn) books. The bookstore's name is a reference to Toranoana.
Let me just say that this book is chaotic, it is random, but it is also fantastic fun. There are some parts that made me blush, but one thing it mostly did was make me laugh out loud many many times.
We got several main characters, they all (well with exception of Umio, since he just got there) got strange names based on what they do. Like Camera, who never leaves her camera, or Director who acts like the boss and so on.
Every chapter has a new story/new day happening, and the activities vary from store stuff to comic events to helping Master with her manga (since she often gets in problems with deadlines).
There are a few main lines running through the story. Like with Umio, he is starting to learn how things work, finds out about the nicknames and quite soon becomes popular. Or Master, who wants to learn about Girl Power and becoming more of a girl. I really like that, since that makes the story even more fun to read.
My fav characters? That would be Rotten Girl or Rotty and Hiotan. Rotty because her love for zombies makes her do crazy stuff. Hiotan because she is so adorable and also clumsy and how everyone is still learning her the ropes (by giving her BL and such) makes that she has hilarious situations.
All in all, I am now even more excited about the anime, and I will be going to read this manga further, it is just too awesome.
