Karol G was one of many celebrities—including Doja Cat, Shakira, Olivia Rodrigo, and many others—to walk the pink carpet at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. So it says a lot when we tell you that her look stood out among the crowd.
For several months now the singer has been undergoing a formidable style transformation that's included being in the front row at the fashion shows for international brands such as Loewe and Jacquemus. And her see-through dress as the MTV VMAs was consistent with this new style moment for the star.
Karol G paraded down the pink carpet wearing a shimmery pearl-toned sleeveless mermaid dress with a round neckline. The see-through aspect only added to the perfection.
Karol G complemented the look with a long dramatic cape. It's also worth mentioning her glam, which flattered the tone of her hair. This time, she wore a newly retouched bubblegum pink color with a wet finish. Her face, always with a glowy effect, shone thanks to the blush that matched her hair (and the whole color palette of the event, for that matter). The effect? A mermaidcore meets Barbiecore look that we'll be thinking about for a long time.
The singer clearly came to win, not only for her outfit but also for her work: Karol G is up for awards in the categories of artist of the year, best collaboration, Latin video, and summer concert. She'll also be one of the artists performing live during the telecast.
