After weeks of speculation surrounding the potential March Madness field, the brackets for the 2018 NCAA Tournament will finally become official this evening at 6 p.m. ET on TBS.

This annual reveal, which occurs on a day best known as Selection Sunday, captivates the nation and always provides plenty of intrigue. There’s never any shortage of hot takes and controversy based on which programs "on the bubble" received an at-large bid to the Big Dance and which schools the committee left out in the cold that have to settle for an NIT appearance. In the table below, you can find the 32 teams that won't need to sweat anything but seeding out tonight after earning an automatic bid by way of winning their conference tournament.

The person running the NCAA March Madness Twitter account is understandably excited about today:

The drama is set to unfold this evening when the “March Madness Selection Show” kicks off at 6 p.m. ET sharp. This special won’t be airing on CBS, as has been the custom for many years, but rather it will be broadcast by TBS for the first time (the network will also air the Final Four instead of CBS this year).

That’s just one of a few new wrinkles in place for the Selection Sunday telecast, as it will also feature a live studio audience and—perhaps most significantly—a quick reveal of all 68 teams in the field and where they are seeded within the bracket that will be completed within 30 minutes. It’s a welcome change after the CBS edition tended to drag out the latter process for multiple hours, which was especially tedious in 2016 when the bracket leaked before the show even began.

Sporting News noted that the NCAA tournament participants are first going to be announced in alphabetical order, ending bubble speculation, before the region and seed are revealed:

The decision to first show the field alphabetically isn't sitting well with some fans. David Kaplan sent out his disappointed take on it:

According to The New York Times, Turner president David Levy explained that the TBS version of this show will move away from a long, drawn-out reveal of the field to one that looks forward at the matchups:

We don’t just do two hours for the sake of doing two hours. We have to have a quality show. The relief valve is going to happen earlier now: ‘Phew! We’re all in. Now, where are we going? Who are we playing against?’ It’s just a different way of looking at it.

With that in mind, here’s how you can watch the much-anticipated March Madness Selection Show tonight and get your first look at the official bracket for the 2018 NCAA Tournament:
