Bruno Fernandes scored a late, late goal to secure Manchester United a much-needed 1-0 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage. The victory sees Erik ten Hag’s team up into sixth in the Premier League. The win comes after a dismal 3-0 home loss to Manchester City in the Premier League and a 3-0 dismantling by Newcastle United at Old Trafford in the League Cup last 16.

Bruno Fernandes scored a dramatic winner in stoppage time to give under-pressure Manchester United a priceless 1-0 Premier League win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The United captain converted Facundo Pellistri's pass from the edge of the box in the first of five added minutes with a quality finish after Fulham failed to clear the danger to illuminate a largely forgettable match in London.
Erik ten Hag's toiling side had a goal ruled out early on by VAR after Harry Maguire was deemed to be offside in the build-up to a Scott McTominay finish from close range.
But they kept persevering with Fernandes sealing the three points to ease the pressure on the United coach after a dismal 3-0 home loss to Manchester City in the Premier League and a 3-0 dismantling by Newcastle United at Old Trafford in the League Cup last 16.
Fernandes was happy with the outcome after sealing the victory for United, who move up to sixth place in the Premier League table on 18 points.
"We have to build the confidence, but I think the team understand now it is about getting results" said the Old Trafford captain on TNT Sports. "We are Manchester United and we have to win every game."

Player of the Match: Harry Maguire (Manchester United)

Suffered a cut eye in the opening minutes, but the England defender progressed to produce a towering performance at the back for United despite battling a dazed head knock and a lively opponent in Fulham forward Rodrigo Muniz.
Was a key man for United in snuffing out the home side.

Talking Point: Did United deserve the victory?

Was not really about the performance for United with the three points all-important for Erik ten Hag's side.
You could argue neither side deserved to win it, but it was a genuine quality piece of play by United captain Bruno Fernandes to seal the victory for a United team who have made the worst start to a season representing the club since 1962/63.
Were perhaps also unfortunate to see Scott McTominay's goal ruled out early on by a VAR call, but the visitors deserve credit for continuing to hunt the winner when a draw seemed inevitable.
Who knows how important this success will be for United and Ten Hag's future health in his role?
It certainly felt momentous amid some jubilant celebrations in the visiting end.

Match Highlights

'8 GOAL FOR UNITED! McTominay taps home at the back post. Alejandro Garnacho clipped the ball across the face of goal from the Christian Eriksen free-kick and United have the lead. A dream start for the visitors.
10' GOAL HAS BEEN CHOPPED OFF! Took four minutes to make the call, but the United lead is not going to stand. That is remarkable. Ten Hag is far from happy about that decision. Referee John Brooks was the man who made the call.
59' MUCH, MUCH BETTER FROM FULHAM Much more expressive from the home side as a move ends with Willian whipping a shot narrowly wide of a post from distance. Not sure Onana would have got there if it was on target.
61' BLISTERING HIT BY WILSON But Onana does brilliantly to make the block with Pereira just failing to connect on the rebound. Fine passage of play from the Fulham perspective. We remain at 0-0.
90+1' GOAL FOR UNITED! Bruno Fernandes with the goal for United. Fulham fail to clear and the captain clips the ball into the corner of the net from edge of box. Facundo Pellistri with the pass to set him up. Leno can't get across. Dramatic moment in added time.
