Agave schottii Mt Lemmon 7000ft

Agave schottii Mt Lemmon 7000ft

Agave schottii also known as Shindagger is almost a different species in cultivation vs the wild. Plants are like a large agave toumeyana with more fillament hairs. Seed was collected above 7000ft on Mt Lemmon in Oak-grasslands. Agave schottii has taken minus teens in Colorado and has been a good performer for us. A very underrated Agave that can be quite impressive given the chance.

I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
