Bradley Cooper's Chef Film Changes Name From 'Adam Jones' to 'Burnt'

It will hit theaters October 23.

IMDB

That upcoming Weinstein Company-backed Bradley Cooper film that was once called Chef and then Adam Jones has a new name: Burnt. The movie — which IMDB notes is slated to hit theaters October 23 — features a cast of Hollywood heavy weights. Cooper plays Adam Jones, a "chef who destroyed his career with drugs and diva behavior. He cleans up and returns to London, determined to redeem himself by spearheading a top restaurant that can gain three Michelin stars."

Actress Sienna Miller (Factory Girlhas signed on to play his sous chef. Uma Thurman (Kill Bill) as well as Jamie Dornan (50 Shades of Grey) and Emma Thompson (Sense and Sensibility) have roles in the film as well.

The movie has had quite a bit of trouble with its name. Sony Pictures, which controls the rights to Burnt, sent a cease-and-desist letter to John Favreau's camp asking him to rename his movie also called Chef. However, Favreau released his film much earlier and Sony changed the name of the Cooper film to Adam Jones in an attempt to avoid confusion. Is Burnt a better name? The box office will weigh in on that in just a couple of months.
