Flavoured vodka can be very hit and miss. While one bottle might be brilliant in a fun twist on a Martini, another brings back memories of bad cocktails in tacky (albeit fun) holiday bars.
However, one brand that we trust with our vodka preferences is Absolut, so we were excited to hear they're releasing new flavours of their classic vodka in time for summer cocktail season.
The flavour that's tickled our fancy the most from the three-strong new product release is the Absolut Nights Smoky Piña. The first in a new series of drinks designed to be drank neat, Absolut Nights Smoky Piña boasts flavours of smoky-sweet pineapple with a spicy chilli-flavoured finish. While this does sound like it would make a much more pleasant shot than neat vodka, it would also make a fun addition to a Piña Colada or Caipiroska. It comes in at 35% ABV which is a little less alcoholic than your usual vod from Absolut.
Also new in the range is Absolut Wild Berri, a flavoured version of their usual 38% ABV vodka, and Absolut Sensations Tropical Fruit, which is the first in a brand-new range of lower ABV vodkas, coming in at 20%.
We can already taste the tropical vodka sodas!
According to the flavour whizzes over at Absolut, the new Sensations flavour has notes of tropical fruit and Szechuan pepper, and Wild Berri has blackberry, blueberry and wild strawberry flavours.
