Only 20 minutes from Zurich's city centre, in the small lakeside community of Horgen, the restaurant L'O invites you to enjoy maritime culinary delights. The beautiful restaurant is located directly on Lake Zurich and is designed like a sophisticated teak yacht, complete with wooden wall panelling and brass fittings.

In summer, when the temperatures are so high, the atmosphere here is charmingly Mediterranean, as the large terrace outside, the bar, and the restaurant itself create an environment like being on the high seas. Of course, it is even possible to dock with your own private boat; moorings are available in any case.

The focus is on fresh fish and particularly refined grilled specialities such as an organic Black Angus Tomahawk steak from Lake Sihl with herb butter and Le Tigre. Crisp, locally grown vegetables and Mediterranean-inspired dishes complete the extensive menu.

Most sea fish are line-caught dorado, loup de Mer or rascasse. Overfished products such as turbot tend to come from sustainable aquacultures. These are served either quite classically or with a herb and Pernod sauce. The wine list is also selected, either from the Zurich Gold Coast, Lake Geneva or other European regions.

From July, the pop-up Jane's Laos Kitchen will serve delicious curries and other specialities from Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Refined light dishes such as a spicy papaya salad, Laotian summer rolls or laksa soups are a welcome treat on hot summer days. Add to this the view of the lake, the sound of the gently lapping waves, and the light breeze - if you dine at L'O or treat yourself to a break for lunch, you don't have to travel far.
