Zoom out. What’s this place all about?
This small museum has no permanent collection. The building, designed by renowned Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, is reminiscent of an Escher painting with interlocking ramp staircases in the center.

How were the exhibits?
You'll find exhibitions of Peter Lindbergh photographs or illustrations by Dick Bruna. Later this year, there's an entire show dedicated to kinetic art.

What did you make of the crowd?
Contemporary art aficionados.

On the practical tip, how were facilities?
The Escher-like building is a little confusing, so bring along a map.

Gift shop: obligatory, inspiring—or skip it?
The shop bills itself as a combination museum shop, concept store, and souvenir shop. Items in stock are related to current exhibitions, and they also sell products by local designers.

Is the café worth a stop, or should we just plan on going elsewhere?
Sandwiches, pastries, beer, wine, and coffee are all available, making it a good pit stop.

Any advice for the time- or attention-challenged?
You could do a quick visit of all the exhibits in 90 minutes.
