An award-winning journalist, Maggie has spent nearly 20 years at news stations across the country. Her work at CBS 17 received a 2020 Regional Edward R. Murrow Award as well as multiple Emmy nominations. She anchors the weekend newscasts on CBS 17 and reports during the week.
Before coming to Raleigh, she reported at WFOR in Miami, one of the busiest news markets in the country. During her time there, she covered numerous crime stories, including when a gunman killed six people at an apartment complex before he was killed by police. Maggie was also the first reporter in any news market worldwide to obtain video that appeared to show pop star Justin Bieber’s drag race down a Miami Beach street.
Before moving to Miami, Maggie worked for three years at KSTP in Minneapolis where she covered the reopening of the 35-W bridge after it collapsed, reported from the floor of the 2008 Republican National Convention, and spent plenty of time in subzero temperatures for blizzard coverage.
Maggie worked at WBBH in Fort Myers, Florida, from 2004-2008, including the historic 2005 hurricane season. During her time in Fort Myers, the Associated Press honored Maggie for her year-long investigation that ended with the arrest and conviction of a Cape Coral councilman and his subsequent removal from office.
Before that, Maggie worked as a reporter, anchor, and producer at WVIR in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She got her start in news at WRIC in Richmond, Virginia, where she grew up.
Maggie graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the College of William and Mary with a double major in English and Government.
After the seemingly endless summers in Miami, and extra-long winters in Minnesota, Maggie is thrilled to be in a state with four “normal” seasons. She and her husband live in Raleigh with their son, daughter, and dogs.
