Japanese dancer and actor EXILE AKIRA announced a four-day photo and art exhibit in conjunction with his memoir, THE FOOL, which was released Thursday (Aug. 23).
Fans will get a close-up look at the 36-year-old performer’s successful career as a member of the vocal and dance supergroup EXILE and as a sought-after actor, as well as a glimpse of the man behind the star performer. Photographer Kentaro Minato of LDH USA accompanied AKIRA for the past two and a half years to record every aspect of his life and career with his camera.
Approximately 200 exclusive photographs capturing AKIRA’s dynamic performances in EXILE and EXILE THE SECOND, a series of intimate shots taken during his trip to Mexico, and artistic photos that express his deepest emotions will be displayed at the gallery.

Divided into sections featuring “fashion,” “dance,” “private” and “expression” as the main concepts, the exhibit will also feature a huge painting AKIRA created specifically for the event.
AKIRA and Minato planned and produced the exhibition, including all the details from the overall spatial design down to the video displays. Exclusive merchandise will be sold at the venue, and a photo booth will be set up for fans to enjoy.
EXILE AKIRA’s first gallery exhibition, called THE FOOL PHOTO ART GALLERY, will be held Sept. 14-17 at the Matsushita IPM Hall in Osaka, Japan.
