私の大好きな森永みるく先生が（２００８年現在）コミックハイで連載中の神作品、それがこのGIRL　FRIENDSです！

私、レビューでこんな大げさなことは書かないほうなのですが、あえて言わせていただきます。これは神作品だと！

個人的には、百合マンガを求める以上、やっぱり恋愛要素やイチャ（H）要素はあるにこしたことはないと思っているのですが、反面、何で相手のことが好きなのか、何で相手のことを求めているのかさっぱり分からないまま、質の悪いエロ本みたいにえっちに突入するだけのマンガは読んでいて全く面白くないんです。

しかし、この作品は、二人の出会い、相手の良さを見つけてゆく様子、相手に心惹かれていく心情、相手への気持ちの高まりが丁寧に描かれていて、いつのまにか、自分も登場人物に同化して恋愛しているような錯覚を感じるんですよ。

私のように、作品への感情移入が激しいタイプの人にとっては、得がたい作品だと思います。
しかしほんと、あっこは可愛いなあ！

　１巻を読んだときは、正直微妙だと思いました。ちょっとダサくて真面目な主人公まりに可愛いといって化粧やおしゃれを教えてくれて外に連れ出してくれる友人が現れる、というのがちょっと都合が良すぎるように感じたのです。
　２巻はそんな友人あっこに惹かれていくまりの様子を丁寧に描いているのですが、普通こういう話なら、あっこの魅力に終始しそうなものなんですが、恋をして苦しんでいる主人公まりの姿がすごい可愛くて身悶えしました。あっこも魅力的ですが、それ以上にまりがやばい。二人の日常が丁寧に綴られているのですが、一々共感できるというか。そして最後の最後、ああいう危ういところで話を切り上げられてしまっては、もうどうなるのかと気が気じゃありません。どういう展開をしようとも、考えられる最悪の展開になっても最高の展開になっても、きっと面白さは代わらないんだろうな、と思います。このもどかしさがどうしようもなくて、たまりません。
