Why J and Q Are Missing in the Periodic Table?

These letters J and Q are not found in the Periodic Table because they do not occur in either element symbols or element names.

Also, in English, J is the fourth less frequently used letter and Q is the third less frequently used letter.

Including Latin, in many other languages, J is not used. This is also a reason for not having J in the periodic table.

Though the element Iodine is known as jod, the International element symbol is I.

The 113th element was supposed to be named with a word starting with J to honour the Japanese RIKEN team.

But later it was named nihonium with the symbol Nh, honouring the Japanese name of their country, Nihon koku.
