What is a Condenser? How Does it Work ? 3 Types of Condensers

คอนเดนเซอร์ (Condenser)

Condenser is one of the key equipment in the refrigerant system, usually placed outside the building or may be placed in a Chiller room. The main forms are used today are 2 types: Shell and tube condenser and Air cooled condenser.

What is a Condenser ?

Condenser is found in general refrigeration systems. It serves to cool off the refrigerant sent from the Compressor which This refrigerant is a gas state with high temperature and pressure. Condenser works to cool down to condensate the refrigerant into a liquid. The temperature is lower but the pressure is still high.

Condenser uses the main ntermedatel is air or water for cooling. The main components in a condenser used to transfer heat have to take into account two main factors: have good thermal conductivity and corrosion resistant.

Types of Condensers

Generally, the condenser can be divided into 3 types:

1. Air cooled Condenser

Air cooled Condenser

Air-cooled condenser is used to cool down heat of the refrigerant to condensate the refrigerant from the gaseous state into a liquid refrigerant. Gernerally, this type of condenser uses a fin coil which is usually made of copper tube and fin that increases the surface area to allow heat away from the refrigerant in the condenser.

2. Water cooled Condenser

Water-cooled condenser uses water as a medium to cool off the refrigerant from gas status to condense into a liquid refrigerant which causes the higher temperature of water.

3. Evaporative Condenser

Evaporative condenser is used both water and air to transfer heat from the refrigerant in the gaseous state to condensate into the liquid. Principle of Evaporative Condenser is to bring out both water-cooled condenser and the cooling tower come together in the same unit.

Shell and tube condenser design

2 PT. Co., Ltd. is an industrial manufacturer that produces heat exchangers, both in Shell and tube type, such as condensers, evaporators, and oil coolers that can be used for both tap water and seawater applications. In addition, we also produce air-cooled heat exchangers such Air condensing frames and fin coil products which can be used as condenser, evaporator and heat exchanger that exchanges between water and air.

The company can design and produce according to customer requirements such as

  • Terms of space limitations for installation and maintenance on site : we can design products to have a shorter size.
  • Terms of performance and capacity : The calculation program is used to obtain an accurate data sheet.
  • Term of speed of design : There are engineers to consult and design and draft drawing immediately
  • Terms of use and maintenance : for example, the company can design a heat exchanger in 4 circuits, which can switch the cover to 2 circuits on each side for ease of maintenance and piping on site.

from the above information We are therefore confident in our service and production. to meet the needs of customers in all aspects
