Emily Blunt, born Feb. 23, 1983, is a British actress known for “The Devil Wears Prada” and “The Quiet Place” films. Born in London, she was discovered while in high school and was named “best newcomer” for her performance in the play “The Royal Family” in 2001. She made her screen debut in the 2003 British TV series “Boudica” and appeared as Queen Catherine Howard in “Henry VIII” the same year. She gained widespread attention for her role as Miranda Priestly’s assistant in “The Devil Wears Prada,” bringing her Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations. The versatile actress won positive reviews for the 2012 romantic comedy “The Five-Year Engagement,” then starred the same year in the sci-fi action film “Looper.”

Blunt’s other major roles were as Queen Victoria in “The Young Victoria,” a Special Forces warrior in “Edge of Tomorrow” and an FBI agent in “Sicario.” In “Mary Poppins Returns,” she took over the role of the magical singing nanny from Julie Andrews. After earning a BAFTA nomination for starring as an alcoholic in “The Girl on the Train,” she was cast in horror movie “A Quiet Place,” directed by her husband, John Krasinski. She returned for the sequel “A Quiet Place Part II” and then starred in the Western miniseries “The English.” In 2023, she appeared in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” as Robert Oppenheimer’s wife Catherine. She also appears in David Yate’s Netflix crime drama “Pain Hustlers” and David Leitch’s action film “The Fall Guy.” She has two children with Krasinski.
