New CDC guidelines for COVID - 19

New COVID Guidelines

The Center for Disease Control (C.D.C.) has issued new guidelines for the current

COVID – 19 conditions. The management at the Strattec Unit has agreed to follow these guidelines.

  • If you have COVID - 19, you should isolate for five days. After the first five days, if you don’t have any symptoms, and you haven’t run a fever for over twenty-four hours, then you should wear a mask for the next five days to minimize the risk of infecting others.
  • If you are exposed to someone who has COVID -19:
    • and you are unvaccinated, or it has been more than six months since your last vaccination, and have not had your booster shot, you should isolate for five days, followed by wearing a mask for five more days.
    • and you are vaccinated, and have had your booster shot, you do not need to isolate, but you should wear a mask for ten days after being exposed.
    • Anyone who is exposed should get tested five days after they were exposed.
    • If you have any symptoms, you should immediately isolate until a negative test confirms that your symptoms are not due to COVID – 19.

Strattec Nominees  have been selected for the Bargaining Committee  Position!

We have three nominees in this election

“The happy people don’t talk to me,” is a phrase you’ll hear me say often. It’s true that one of the things that your Union provides is a person to help you solve problems at work.

Hello Brothers and Sisters of Local 2-232, I hope that you are well.

This year has come and gone so fast Brothers and Sisters!

It was full of eventful moments: District 7 merger,  The Union Social, The NextGen Conference, The Labor Day Parade, The USW Luncheon/Rally and so much more!

Here's some photos to recap the year! We hope all the Brothers and Sisters enjoy this Holiday season with their families and we can't wait to get started on the next chapter when we all return next year...

There is so much more to come in 2023!

Saturday July 23, you and your family are invited to come celebrate your Union at the return of the Solidarity Social.

This years event will be held at Riviera Lanes (8600 W. Greenfield Ave. West Allis, WI 53214) and will include bowling, food, drinks, games and Union speakers.

The event will run from noon until 5:00 pm. Stop in for some food and fun or stay for the whole event.

Brothers and Sister of Local 2-232,

I wanted to start by saying thank you to everyone who came out to vote and had your voices heard in both of our ratification meetings. With the passage of this contract we have secured higher wages, additional benefits, and security for everyone for the next four years. I truly believe this contract is one of the best our members have seen and is without a doubt a foundation to build future agreements on.

SECOND RATIFICATION VOTE:

While the Union understands that the second ratification meeting is being called quickly, we believe the gains to be substantial in addressing the concern of the majority of our members based on feedback following the rejection of the first tentative agreement, the response to the Union's text program, and the quick turn around in the Rejection Surveys. The proposed changes in the Last Offer Document expire by midnight on September 7, 2021.

RATIFICATION MEETING

** Masks will be reccomended but not required for attendance **

*** You must be in attendance to vote on the contract ***

** If you do not attend the ratification meeting you are expected to report to work on your regular schedule **

DATE:          Wednesday, September 1, 2021

TIME:           Meeting will be held from 12:00 until 4:00 pm

LOCAL 2-232, STRATTEC UNIT:

Your Bargaining Committee wanted to reach out to everyone and issue a statement as we enter negotiations. We will be meeting with the company to trade our initial proposals on Friday July 30 and beginning our negotiations the following week. The Bargaining Committee and USW Staff Representative have reviewed all the suggestions from our contract survey and have put together a strong and fair language and economic proposal that reflects the changes in the business, economy, job market, and over all country.
