In this role, I taught English to school children aged 5-16 in the South of Spain. This is a role which developed my communication skills massively, communicating with colleagues and students whose native language was not English.
It also showed that I can adapt to new environments, as I was working whilst immersed in a completely new culture, and so it has helped develop my inter-personal skills.

I worked as an activity leader during my three summer breaks at university, delivering a timetable of activities to foreign exchange students.
Working in a multi-cultural environment forced me to develop my communication skills, as the children often had limited English skills, and the majority of my colleagues' first language was not English.
My organisational and managerial skills improved, as did my teamwork, as this is a company where teamwork is the key to success.

  • University of Sussex Graphic

    Family Law Clinic Advisor

    University of Sussex

    - 9 months

    Brighton, United Kingdom

This was a role that I undertook alongside my final year of undergraduate studies. It required me to work as part of a pair in interviewing clients who could not pay for legal aid, and providing them with help, either in form of a letter or advice on the spot under the supervision of a qualified solicitor.

This developed my legal research skills, as well as my teamwork ability, as I researched and conducted interviews in pairs. This also improved my ability to communicate effectively.
