September 23, Jake Adams –The Mandarin Cat Shark is an exciting new species of shark which has just been discovered collected in the northern Philippines. The incredible pattern of the ‘cat shark’ has an uncanny resemblance to the beloved Mandarin goby, and we’ve never seen a shark so beautiful that it made us want to have a nice large shark tank of our own.**

This shark was recently presented as a ‘new’ species, discovered in the Philipines. It is however Hemitriakis complicofasciata, the ocellatecatshark
topeshark, documented for the first time in 2004.
Probably is new for Philippines, because it was discovered in Southern Japan. Also, isn’t a catsharks (family Scyliorhinidae) because this sharks belong to Triakidae family (commonly known as houndshark) this imagen bellow, from the paper, show its adult form, without the leopard pattern
