Timeline of Historical Events
These sly and devious giant mythical creatures were used mainly as armed trolls of Azog the Defiler's Dol-Gudur. Guldur Olog-hai were commanded to appear at once when Azog roared out for his beasts of war. At the time of The Battle of the Five Armies, these trolls caused serious ravage on the kins and relatives of Elves and Dwarves in the Erebor valley. When the corps of Orc went out to the relics of Dale, most of these powerful giants followed them. They either climb or break the walls to enter the premises of Dale easily. One giant was given the task to wear a headpiece made of stone to smash Dale's walls quickly. As the war draws into a close, a troop of little Guldur Olog-hai with their weapons assembled to fight against the forces of Dain. They were halted by the presence of Thorin and his Company from the Erebor gates. Later, they were fended off by the reawakened Elves and Dwarves. Bigger Guldur Olog-hai were still battling with their opponents when the Bats of Gundabad showed up. Unfortunately, when the Eagles appeared, the surviving giants went to the dark tunnels of Were-Worm. Their wicked opponents slew the other giants. Nobody knows if some trolls were still alive up to the War of the Ring.
Statistics
Many Guldur Olog-hai were so huge compared to the other giants. Their height is measured approximately at 25-30 feet tall or 8-10 meters tall. The colour of their skin differs. Some trolls had grey skin, while others were albino. At the battle, they were provided with ammunition like crude orcs, spiked wooden pummels, metal maces, and sharp blades. These weapons are tied up to their arms. Good thing these Guldur Olog-hai were so big, most of them were strong enough to break Dale's walls with the use of powerful weapons. These mythical trolls act as monstrous slingshots or crippling jabs. There were also little Guldur Olog-hai, and both the giant and smaller trolls look so much alike in so many ways. They both resemble each other as to their features. Only that they were fewer and made use of tiny speared plummets. These little versions of Guldur Olog-hai stood at 9-12 feet tall or 2-4 meters tall. They were spotted at the Erebor Gates doing some preparations to fight off the Dain army.
"Stumpy the Albino Troll Brute"
Stumpy, the Albino Troll Brute, was the very unlucky troll as tagged by the movie producers. Stumpy is albino, with smaller arms. His arms were displaced with beating chains while smashing round maces displaced his lower limbs. He was also blind at birth and had no eyes. He had chains fixated inside the sockets of his eyes into a chair on his back. He was manipulated and driven by an Orc. The Extended Edition of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies presented Stumpy the Albino Troll Brute does some fighting against the Elves and Dwarves' kins. But Bofur seized control of him and was forced to battle his relatives and Orcs on his way to Ravenhill. He was eventually destroyed by Legolas.
Guldur Olog-hai Fights Against Gandalf the Grey
In one scene in the Extended Cut of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, [1] a grey-skinned, malformed Guldur Olog-hai was observed battling against the forces of Lake-town in the relics of the city of Dale. After fighting against Lake-Men's troop, the giant attempts to destroy the monster Gandalf the Grey using his magical powers. But the magic wand, which was initially owned by Ragadast the Brown, seems to be not working. The mystical troll tried so hard to emit power from the wand; he tried it countless times to destroy Gandalf the Grey. Meanwhile, Alfrid Lickspittle covers himself in a trebuchet net on the back of a passed out Guldur Olog-hai. By mistake, a golden coin landed inside the big trebuchet, and Alfrid was hurled out into the sky. As Guldur Olog-hai tries to destroy Gandalf, the flying Alfrid went shockingly inside the giant's throat. This incident left Guldur Olog-hai slowly choking, and both of them died instantly. This giant is very rare in physical appearance, in contrast with the other huge Guldur Olog-hai. He is much smaller and more robust. Its height is 15-19 feet tall or 4.6-5.8 meters tall. His figure is a little unbalanced. He has long limbs and a large mouth that often salivates. His skin color is dark grey, with a body full of scales, and frequently carries a heavy club weapon.
Finer Points
The ideological book of art The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Chronicles: Art & Design, illustrates that huge Guldur Olog-hai were firstly designed to have big horns and overlaid with bladed spines. The idle idealistic troll was named the Caber Troll, a giant with sharp horns. This Caber Troll tossed humongous trees with spears and heavy mallets into its atrocious enemies' clans.
