Breakout board based on the humidity sensor manufactured by Honeywell and signed HIH-5030-001. Ideal for detecting the humidity present in the environment in which it is placed, operates at very low voltage (operates correctly even less than 2.7 Vcc and up to 5.5 Vcc) absorbing typically 200 microamperes, and is therefore also ideal in applications fed batteries and where it is required minimal absorption. The sensor HIH-5030-001 has the great advantage to provide, unlike the DS18B20, an analog output signal, which consists of a DC voltage that varies almost linearly to vary the relative humidity (RH); can then be interfaced to both analog circuits which control the flow of air of a dehumidification system, both be read by an A / D converter or from the entrance of a microcontroller with analog / digital converter. The sensor element of the device is of capacitive type composed of thermosetting polymers laser cut with integrated signal conditioning chip. The multilayer construction of the sensitive element provides excellent resistance to most of the risk of applications such as the formation of condensation, dust, dirt, oils and chemicals common environmental. The accuracy of the measurement, considered between 11% and 89% relative humidity is + 3% and the response time to changes in humidity is in the neighborhood of 5 seconds.
