Leshan Giant Buddha, the tallest stone statue in the world
The tallest stone statue of Buddha was made during the period of Tang Dynasty between 713 and 803. Its size is 71 metre tall. It is built by chopping the front section of a cliff that locates at the place where three rivers called the Dadu, Minjiang and Qingyi meet and produce a junction. This Giant Buddha statue lies in the south of Sichuan region, which is close to Leshan city, in China. The statue is surrounded by beautiful summit of Mount Emei, and the rivers run below the feet of the statue.
